Where it All Happens

As I launch my new website I can't help but think of all that has happened in the last 4 years. It was in fact 2020 when this journey of painting began for me, and "wow", has it been a roller coster ride! I cannot possibly explain all that has transpired in that time in one blog post, if you want to learn more about me, my art practice, my hurdles, revelations, inspiration and such, well...you have come to the right place. Be sure to subscribe before you leave so you get to read more as I move forward with this platform.

Miss Sophie

I sit here with my music quietly playing in the background, Sophie is resting on the floor near her bed just outside my studio doors, close enough to see me but out of the way as far as foot traffic goes. My green tea is hot and sweetened with local honey we buy from a farm located in New Dundee, Ontario. The sun is shining today and it's still relatively early; all the ingredients I require to feel connected to my space and inspired to create. Today is what I call a "no painting" day, instead my attention is being directed towards the various other tasks related to running an art business: accounting, inventory, organizing, cleaning my tools and supplies, you get the gist. In fact in a couple hours I will be meeting virtually with my art mentor, Bob who lives in California. My relationship with Bob began back in February and has continued since then. I will likely share more about this experience in the months ahead, by far this has been one of the best investments I have made in my art practice to date.

As I look around I see the various works in progress begging for my attention. Oils on canvas, some small and others quite large! Pastel paintings waiting to emerge and other paintings waiting to dry so they can be hung or stored in preparation for my next Private Open Studio Event (more about that to come in the weeks ahead). So I will keep this post short and sweet, there is much to do before my coaching session.

As mentioned earlier, be sure to take a moment and subscribe to receive my ongoing blog posts, information about new series releases, special events and more. Bye for now!

Blessings,

Char
